An Assault Team (AT for short) is a collection of resources (e.g. infantry spawns, vehicles, etc) which allows players to use those resources in the Action Game. Each assault team also has a fixed number of player slots; this is the number of players who can be a member of that Assault Team in the FPS. Whenever a player in the Action Game spawns a soldier or vehicle, it will be deducted from his or her assault team.

In the campaign, Assault Teams are purchased by Generals, who command them on the Campaign Map. In training missions, however, each faction will be supplied with Assault Teams without a player needing to spend Warfunds to acquire them.

Assault Teams are categorized into strict types that gives access to different specializations allowing use of special weapons and vehicles.

Joining an Assault Team

When a player joins a mission he is assigned to an Assault Team matching his selected soldier. On the spawn screen, you can change soldier within the Assault Team via the box at the bottom left of the screen, or switch to a different Assault Team altogether via the box at the bottom right. You can also change your Access Point this way. During the game, other members of the same Assault team have yellow indicators above them. Unlike the regular blue faction indicators, these are visible even when you don't have line of sight to your fellow soldier.

Acquiring an Assault Team

All players can purchase an assault team when they have the required funds and enough command points (the first command point is unlocked at rank 12). The Assault team owners can then deploy the team at a capital of their choice, provided they have enough warfunds for deployment and they have queued up at the Faction Stockpile and gained the resources needed for that assault team. The only way for players to play in the strategic portion of the game without going through the leveling progression is to purchase characters of rank 12, 15, or 18 for gold from the store. Otherwise players must level up the required character in the required career path in order to purchase and use the desired assault team. In the table below, the number of command points are shown for each rank. Starting at rank 12 players can purchase assault teams; the new assault teams start at rank 0 themselves, and must be leveled and upgraded to progress to better types of assault teams.

Limited Supply

Limited supply is a new feature, added in the Spaatz build, which puts a cap on how quickly assault teams can be deployed. Each resource, be it light tank, infantryman, pilot or plane, is produced over time, and added to the faction stockpile. Each assault team must queue up in order to gain the resources to deploy themselves. The queue is funded by the faction stockpile of the faction's HQ, and both factions have the same production rate. They must wait till all of their resources have been produced and are available, and so long as they are in the front of the queue they will gain their resources - it works on a first-come-first-served basis. Then, in order to deploy their assault team, it must have full resources, and the player must have enough warfunds to deploy that assault team when they reach the front of the queue, or else they will be booted from the queue.

Moving Assault Teams

Ground based Assault Teams are moved between battlefields on the campaign map following the supply lines. Airborne Assault Teams can only move from airfields to airfields but move quickly and in a direct line.

Movingassaultteams
  • Select your assault team for example "Cannon Fodder US-1"
Movingassaultteams2
  • Now drag it to Harlow. After this is done successfully you can see how it moves towards target (target has a yellow flag).

Delegation

Assault team delegation is a feature that is not included in the game yet, but was mentioned as a part of using Assault teams more effectively. Delegation means that another General who will not be a owner of the AT would be able to use (move, resupply, engage in the battle or start a new one) it. It is still unknow how this option will operate and when it will implemented. See other upcoming features here.

Attacking

Ground based Assault Teams attack by moving up to a battlefield and initiating an assault. Airborne Assault Teams can attack any visible enemy assault team/transport within their range. When all units are killed in the assault team it is undeployed. It can be redeployed and resupplied in exchange for warfunds, and after queueing up for resources at the faction stockpile, a new feature added in the Spaatz build.

Assault Team Battle Rewards

Each assault team that participates in a battle is rewarded with certain amount of warfunds based on how it performs in the action game. This means that there are no longer any limits how much can be earned since FPS players performance decides how much profit generals get from battle. On the other hand this causes that FPS player skills are more important than ever because if FPS players do poorly on one side it soon becomes an uphill battle to whole faction (the generals will have a lack of warfunds).

Infantry

AssaultTeam Infantry Infantrymen are soldiers who are specifically trained for the role of fighting on foot to engage the enemy. As the oldest branch of combat arms, they are the backbone of armies.

Infantry soldiers are distinguished from men trained to fight using tanks or airplanes, but basic infantry skills are fundamental to the training of any soldier, and soldiers of any branch of an army are expected to serve as auxiliary infantry (e.g., patrolling and security) when necessary. Infantry can access and maneuver in terrain inaccessible to vehicles and tanks.
