Tips
- The Panzer IV has the best protection out of all german medium tanks thanks to its weakspot position and the added side skirt armor from model H.
- The Panzer IV has very slow acceleration and top speed for a medium tank. It cannot effectively flank, quite unlike other medium tanks. Turning of any kind brakes one of the tracks, causing a reduction in speed, and the need to reaccelerate.
- As with all German tanks, it is highly recommended that you buy a camo for it, to help with ambushes.
- The hull gunner, just like the Panther's, has a relatively protected 3rd person view position, which can help you in your protected view to spot for your surroundings.
- The Panzer IV will almost never bounce shots as the armor isn't sloped.
- The Panzer IV has the best gun for a tier 2 medium tank.
- The Panzer IV's turret front and mantlet have a very thin armor of only 50mm. Expect your enemy to shoot for this area first, to destroy your cannon breech and slow down reloads.
- After the Armor 2.0 update, the side skirts now help with the deflection of AT rockets.
- This tank has a relatively fast respawn timer, only 1:58s with APCR and HE shells. As long as you don't die too fast, you can constantly respawn immediately after death.

The Panzer IV Ausf.H now sports with a KwK40 L/48 75mm cannon that can now reliably penetrate Allies armor, a task that its predecessor Panzer III with its 50mm cannon struggles to complete as the M3 Lee and M4 starts to appear on the sandy dunes of North Africa.
