Description[ | ]

The adjustable wrench or ‘monkey wrench’ is a special kind of spanner that can adjust to many sizes of nuts. Ideal for use in the field where tools for mechanical work and self-defense are sparse.

Gameplay[ | ]

The adjustable wrench is a tool that players of all Factions can use to repair damaged vehicles. It also doubles as a melee weapon, capable of killing enemies with three torso strikes or one head strike. However you swing the wrench rather slowly and it has low range and damage compared to other Close Combat Weapons.

How to use[ | ]

To use the wrench, approach a damaged vehicle and press and hold the left mouse button. You will perform an action and the health of the vehicle will slowly increase. During this period, the vehicle's health bar will be visible to you, and you will be left vulnerable to enemy soldiers. The progress bar for vehicle stealing will not show unless you stop repairing the vehicle, so be alert for anyone trying to steal your vehicle while you repair. After V update, the repair effectiveness of the tool can be increased thanks to the mechanic combat badge. As of the Z update, you will now receive bonus experience points for repairing vehicles.

Multiple Players Repairing[ | ]

As of Battle Pass Season 2: Ablaze (Update 1.27), the individual contribution to repairing per player decreases as more people repair a vehicle simultaneously - the net effect is shown in the graph below:

MultiPersonRepairSpeedGraph

Approximate values per number of players are:[1]

  • 1 player → 100% → 100% per player
  • 2 players → 170% → 85% per player
  • 3 players → 210% → 70% per player
  • 4 players → 235% → 58,75% per player
  • 5 players → 250% → 50% per player

These are rough values and the true amounts are based on a slightly more precise formula, for example the base effectiveness of five players repairing is actually within the 240-250% range.[1]

The base effectiveness caps at around 250%, which may be raised to around ~446% if all repairers have Mechanic Gold. However, adding one more repairer without a Mechanic bonus of their own can actually decrease effectiveness, for instance: 4 players with Mechanic Gold = 423% (4 × 58,75% × 1.8), 4 players with Mechanic Gold + 1 without = 410% (4 × 50% × 1.8 + 50).[1]
