The N-K M3 6x30 is a special issue field gear item used by the U.S. Army during World War II. Manufactured by Nash-Kelvinator corporation until 1944, the M3 was produced to meet a 6-power design requirement. It is comprised of various metals, coated in a black lacquer, and finalized with leather and synthetic rubber for ergonomic comfort. It could be worn around the neck on a leather strap or kept in a special holster. Service binoculars were issued to officers, NCOs, artillery spotters, pilots, and snipers. Used extensively for reconnaissance, the N-K M3 6x30 proved invaluable in tactical and support roles. A total of 311,263 were made at a cost of $71 each. [1]
