The Panzerfaust 60 is a German single-use Anti-Tank weapon. It is a recoilless gun that fires a hard-hitting projectile capable of penetrating close to 200 mm of armor plating.

History[edit | edit source]

The Panzerfaust 60 is a German man-portable anti-tank recoilless launcher that fires a hard-hitting HEAT projectile, capable of penetrating through nearly 200mm of armor plating. German engineers sought to improve upon the design of the Faustpatrone, the predecessor to the Panzerfaust. Unlike a rocket launcher, a recoilless rifle's projectile did not carry its own propulsion, and instead was entirely dependent upon its initial blast inside the tube.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

The Panzerfaust 60 is a recoilless anti-tank launcher. It can be found from crates on the capture points of the in-game maps and it is free to use. After picking up a Panzerfaust from a crate, it can only be fired when aimed. The weapon is sighted for 30, 60, and 80 meters and the range can be adjusted either automatically by pressing the space bar, or manually by scrolling up or down with the mouse wheel.

As only one can be carried at a time it most often isn't enough to destroy a tank unless it is on low HP. Instead, shoot at one of the tracks to make the tanker's life harder, the tanker may pop out of the tank which makes him vulnerable to your small-arms fire.

Useful for finishing off damaged tanks or destroying infantry vehicles such as APCs. APCs require two hits into the engine to take down. Always aim for important vehicle components such as the engine, ammunition, and fuel tanks.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In-game, the Panzerfaust 60 is incorrectly shown to have a smoke trail. This isn't true to real life as the Faustpatrone isn't a rocket, but launched using a starter charge inside the tube.
  • The Panzerfaust 60 has a reload animation (currently unavailable) as a remnant of the times before the RPzB 54. First the soldier throws away the empty tube, takes out another Panzerfaust, pulls out the safety pin and lifts the sights up. The reload lasts for 3.3 seconds.
