Description[ | ]
By adding a scope onto a weapon, a soldier is able to more or less extend their effective engagement distance. There are 9 scopes currently in the game: ZF-39, ZF-4, ZF-41 , ZS Zielacht, M73B1, M84, Unertl, PU and PE-31.
Reticles[ | ]
Reticles do not affect zoom or performance. They are solely for aesthetics. Recon soldiers have more reticles available than any other class. There are seven reticles in the game, four of them are recon reticles, two are Infantry reticles and one is exclusive to the FG 42 on Paratroopers.
Availability[ | ]
Scopes and reticles can only be used on certain guns by certain classes. The Recon class is the only class with access to high powered (from 2.8x to 8.0x) zoom scopes.
Generally, infantry and paratrooper only have access to low-powered infantry scopes (ZF-41 for germans, M73B1 for US and PU for soviet) on certain weapons (see below). Their magnification is limited at 1.9x. There is an exception to this, which is German paratrooper's FG-42, which have access to a 4x magnification ZF-4 T-Post scope.
The aforementioned available weapons list are:
- Semi-automatic starter rifles (G43, M1G, SVT-40);
- Bolt-action rifles (K98k, M1903, MN 1891-30);
- Infantry assault rifles (STG44, M2 Carbine, AVS-36);
- Selected paratrooper rifles (FG42, M1 Carbine)
Recons have advanced options when it comes to scope modding (besides access to all infantry scopes). Please refer to the following list:
- Semi-automatic rifles (G43, M1G, SVT-40) have an exclusive option of a more advanced mid-powered scope (ZF-4 [4x] , M84 [2.8x] and PE-31 [4x] respectively, all with German#1 reticle);
- Bolt-action rifles have options of mid-powered and high-powered sniper scopes with access to more reticles too:

- K98k: ZF-39 [4.2x] (German #1 and Fine Cross); ZS Zielacht [8x] (Fine Cross and German#4);
- M1903: M84 [2.8x] (German #1 and Fine Cross); Unertl [8x] (Fine Cross and Fine Duplex);
- MN 1891-30: PE-31 [4x] (German #1, and Fine Cross); ZS Zielacht [8x] (Fine Cross and German #4).
Please note that German bolt-action rifle and semi-automatic rifle does not share the same mid-powered scope, unlike other factions' (which are interchangeable given it's the German#1 reticle).
